Special Issue Information

Dear colleagues

Internet of things (IoT) covers a huge scientific and technical area from RFID technologies to actual ubiquitous systems. The domain is so broad now that it embraces simple sensor or device hardware to complex communication protocols between them. It also includes pervasive and mobile computing, human computer interaction, real world modeling, or human centric validation and experience characterization.

This special issue is focused on the evolution from pure machine-to-machine interconnections to machine becoming aware of their environment and of the people. In this issue we would like to focus on understanding what should be done to improve the IoT awareness to human. The Authors are invited to submit papers from diverse fields including Human Computer Interaction, Pervasive Computing, Distributed and Mobile Computing, Sensors and Devices, Building automation, Data analytics for IoT.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are refereed through a peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Future Internet is an international peer-reviewed Open Access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 500 CHF (Swiss Francs). English correction and/or formatting fees of 250 CHF (Swiss Francs) will be charged in certain cases for those articles accepted for publication that require extensive additional formatting and/or English corrections.
